- Never swim when under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or prescription drugs.

- Even snorkeling can be dangerous; always practice in shallow water, check equipment and know how it functions, learn to clear water from the snorkel, learn to put your mask on properly while treading water, never swim to far from your starting point and never snorkel alone or with another inexperienced person.

- It is always a good idea to remove all valuables from your vehicle when going to the beach.

                                                      WATCH YOUR KEIKI!

- Watch children around any water environment (pool, stream, lake, tub, toilet, bucket of water), no matter what skills your child has acquired and no matter how shallow the water. For younger children, always maintain "Reach Supervision" by staying within an arm's length reach.

- Don't rely on substitutes for parental supervision. The use of flotation devices and inflatable toys cannot replace parental supervision. Such devices could suddenly shift position, lose air, or slip out from underneath, leaving the child in a dangerous situation.

- Protect your beach baby! Babies under the age of one (1) should stay out of the sun. Always put age appropriate sunscreen on with appropriate SPF rating to prevent burns. Cover your babies head with a wide brim hat to protect face and eyes. Cloth your child in light weight and light colored material preferably with a strong UV protection rating, but never swaddle or over cloth your child to prevent heat exhaustion.   Click here to see Xcel Wetsuits full line of SUN products specifically designed to protect your keiki!
